We are very proud of our award winning restaurant. Recently awarded 2 AA rosettes and mentioned in the Michelin Guide our only goal is to deliver great tasting dishes that everyone can enjoy. Our weekday lunch offering is a great value set lunch menu served alongside our full a la carte menu which consists of pub classics & seasonal specials. Sourcing as many ingredients from the local area you really do get a taste of Wiltshire on your plate. Making the most of the outstanding Pork from Buttle Farm & the great local butchers. Local game from Calstone Downs & Fonthill. We also source from the many small holdings in the village and can honestly say that every meal served has a touch of Compton Bassett in it. Our pub kitchen is completely fresh and treats every ingredient with care working with our suppliers to bring you well thought out quality dishes. Booking is highly recommended especially for weekends and our Sunday lunch, which includes our very popular vegetarian roast with all the trimmings. Scroll down to view our sample menus.

Our menu of home cooked dishes includes all your pub favourites as well as chefs specials to get the taste buds tingling.

Fresh & locally sourced

Virtually everything is made and prepared on site, right down to the tomato ketchup (& dog treats). Sourcing local ingredients from the village and surrounding area you really get a taste of the area on your plate. If we can’t source the ingredients from within a few miles great care is taken to source responsibly and ethically.

“…The choice for all 3 courses was excellent. Presentation and taste of everything was superb. The garlic and thyme flatbread with spicy houmous was a most unusual and excellent starter. The partridge on barley risotto for the main course was made with a delicious tasty stock. The crispness of the pastry on the blackberry Mille feuille was wonderful.
